Enemies are Blessings in disguise

Have you ever despised your enemy? Have you ever hated your enemy so much that you prayed for them to be judged instantly? Or for karma to catch up with them, because of how bad they treated you?

I have done even more than that. I have prayed with Psalms and cried to God to execute instant judgment on my enemies. By “Enemy” I mean someone who was cruel to you, not just someone you dislike because, you guys had disagreement.

From my young age, approximately 6 years of age, until today, I have constantly been under attack of one enemy or another. Even though I’m surrounded by devoted family and friends, there’s always that one person who’s tormenting my life. As a child, it was always my aunts, uncles, or friends who bullied me. As an adult, in relationships and friendships. I have dealt with narcissists and witchcrafts. Recently, upon revisiting my past, I came to the realization that this is the issue that I have been battling for years. I asked God, “why”? What is it about me that I had to deal with many cruel people in life?

The Holy Spirit began to reveal to me that, first; those people are not my actual enemies, but human vessels used by Satan and his unclean spirits to knock me down and hinder my life’s purpose. I came to understand that, the devil knows who is carrying a greater purpose, even while the person was still a kid. And the greater the purpose you carry, the greater the attack. And If God purposed you to partner with Him in building His Kingdom, and exposing the kingdom of darkness, the chances are, that the devil will stop at nothing in fighting you and of course, he and his demonic spirits are disembodied, so the only way he can attack and oppress you, will be, through influencing other people and using them as human vessels to do his deeds. Attacks only prove what you carry because the devil has no time to waste attacking someone, who is not a threat to him. And most of the time, we get angry at people he uses to attack us, thinking that those are our enemies, but the truth is that our real enemy is the Devil.

The Scripture in the book of Ephesians 6:12 tells us that, we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

But the good thing about the enemy attacks and why God allows those attacks, is that, He knows how to use all those negative experiences to build and equip us for our purpose and calling. When I started studying all the attacks I suffered from enemies in the past, I noticed that each attack was like a nudge that pushed me to the next level of my life. There has never been a wasted experience. Each time someone enters my life and treats me with cruelty and that relationship ends, after sometime, I will look back and notice that the experience actually catapulted me to the next better season of my life, before meeting that person. Even when I will be mad and do not understand it at the time, I can testify that my success in life and the place I currently am in life, would not have been possible, if not for the enemies I met along the way. My experience with narcissists brought me closer to God and the witchcraft activities that happened in my life, opened my eyes to the spiritual realm and wickedness of men, which I never believe existed until I witnessed it personally. God says in the Scripture Hosea 4:6 “My people perish because they lack knowledge and because they have rejected knowledge, I will also reject them”. There are so many things we are ignorant of in this world, which is only us experiencing those things ourselves, that will raise an awareness and make us seek more knowledge regarding that particular experience.

Our real enemy, “the devil” manipulates and plants people in our lives, to torment and be very cruel to us. But God’s strategy has always been that He will turn those attacks around, using them to build us into becoming a better version of ourselves. The mistake we sometimes make, is to bear grudge. We harbor Unforgiveness within our hearts for years, believing that we are punishing the individual who hurt us, and that is undoubtedly how the devil intends us to feel. The truth is that we are hindering ourselves from moving to the next season of our life. We are allowing hatred and forgiveness to consume and enslave us. The devil, our enemy, is very strategic. If he can get us to feel hate and bitterness every day of our life because someone was mean to us, he will then make us have bigger problems like anxiety, depression and substance abuse. Now he has us in his trap, exactly how he planned to. We will now remain in a cycle of lamentation, complaining, and telling everyone around us how badly we were treated.

But when we start to understand that the people who treated us that way were influenced by demonic spirits and that the war is not against them but against the devil, we will start to pray for our enemies, that God will one day meet them and deliver them from the demonic spirits. We will never be weighed down by an enemy’s oppression anymore when we start practicing forgiveness and start to understand that God uses the wickedness of the enemies we met along the way to train and elevate us, just like He did for Joseph in Genesis 50:20. Instead, we’ll begin to appreciate the lessons we’ve picked up along the way. Putting our faith in God to be their judge at the exact moment He has already determined for their verdict. Despite they’re being used by the devil to do his dirty work, there are still consequences for each action and decision we make in this life. The Bible tells us that “No wicked person shall go unpunished.” They will still be held accountable for their sins. We can only leave God to judge them at the right time, and I can assure you that God does judge people. The Judgment may not arrive at the precise moment we desire, but it will certainly occur. We are only going to be fueling our unforgiveness and hindering ourselves from becoming the best version of ourselves when we start praying and wish for the Judgment to come right now.
