We have been lied to (unveiling the lies about sin)

Another area the Holy Spirit placed on my heart to write about, is the lies we have been told about sin.

Before, I used to think that when I sin, I am sinning against God or rather that my sin is hurting God. So, my prayers for forgiveness of sin used to be, that God should forgive me for sinning against him and I believe that’s how people pray too. But the Holy Spirit revealed something different to me and after that my view on sins changed completely.

If you have read my other posts, you will notice that I mentioned how God communicates to me a lot through dreams. Some of my dreams are about other people and I will not be actively involved in those dreams but just as an observer. I have had dreams where I was shown other people’s lives, either for me to intercede for them in prayers; like, sometimes I have been shown women and children somewhere in Africa, being swept away by floods, people who are having difficulties or battling illnesses. And these will be people I don’t even know in real life. But, whenever I have such dreams, I will know that God is showing me these people for me to pray for them. So, I will pray for Him (God) to, either prevent the upcoming danger or to deliver them if it was an already occurred event. But I have also had dreams where I was shown people’s lives, just for the Holy Spirit to use it to teach me something.

Few days ago, I had this dream where I was an observer. I watched the life of a medical doctor who started an affair with a co-worker, whom I believe was a nurse at the same hospital where he practices. Both were married and have their own spouses and kids. But when the secret affair started, they both lied to their spouses, that due to work-schedule, they won’t be coming home for one week. Also, at work they both took one week sick-leave simultaneously. I watched them use the one week to party, smoke, get drunk and had non-stop sexual intercourse. After one week, they both returned home and resumed work. But what I noticed was that the lady was still flirting with the doctor, but he (the doctor), was deeply troubled, because of the affair he had. I watched how he was so disturbed and depressed at work, either out of guilt or he has started to develop strong feelings for the co-worker. It wasn’t revealed to me the reason why he was troubled, but I saw how depressed and absent-minded he was at work. Even the patients were coming in for consultation, but he wasn’t able to concentrate or pay attention to what their real problems were and because of that, he was prescribing them the wrong medications and the patients will take the drugs and leave.

So, the Holy Spirit started revealing to me that most of these patients will take the wrongly prescribed drugs and either get worse, develop other illnesses or even die. He revealed to me that this is how one single act of sin ends up causing more harm and damage and even take lives. He made me understand that most of the bad things that are happening to us in this world are actually caused by consequences of our own sins, if we can go back and trace the root of it. And that’s why God wants us to stop sinning. For our own good and for the good of the people around us, not for Him. Because God is and will always remain a perfect God. Our sins and good deeds do not reduce or add to Him. Because He alone is whole and glorious. When I studied this, I realized that truly we have been lied to and deceived by the devil. Then I looked at the 10 commandments, Exodus 20:1-17. Each and every commandment, out of the 10 commandments, is for our own good. Even resting on the Sabbath day. If we keep working and not take at least one out of the 7 days of the week to rest, we are going to breakdown and that’s also a consequence of not keeping God’s commandment, and we are and will continue to be the sufferers of the consequences. Most of the evil that is happening in this world is because someone else, somewhere sinned (didn’t obey God). For example, the poor kids, men and women dying in Africa and other 3rd world countries because of poverty or because of war are mostly because of greediness of people in Authority. There are badly processed foods, bad and dangerous medications and so many illnesses that happen to us because of human-error, greediness and wickedness of men. These are moral-evil. I know there is natural-evil, which I will discuss on my next post.

When God created this world, He put everything we will need to survive in each and every country. In fact, He gave us enough things so that we can have enough good life and be happy together as community, but also because, He did not make us as robots but instead, He gave us “free-will” to choose between good and evil, of which His desire was for us to obey his commands and choose good. The devil came along, deceived us into disobeying God and choosing bad over good because he made us believe that bad is fun and good is boring. But when you encounter the Lord and the veil, he (the devil) uses to blind you gets taken off, you will begin to discover how he had lied to mankind and understand that doing good things are actually more fun and very fulfilling than making wrong choices. For example: when you lie, you need to tell another lie to cover up the lies that you told in the beginning, this one lie may not give you peace of mind, and it may end up hurting other people and at last him (the devil) will still end up exposing and shaming you. But when we choose good and obey God’s commandments, we will have peace, nothing to hide, everyone around us, we also be blessed by our good choices.

The question is what is even fun?

The truth is that most of the things we call fun are things that are fleeting, things that keep us enslaved, wanting more and never getting enough, even when we are suffering the consequences. Jealousy, Envy, Drug-addiction, Lying, Alcoholism, Sexual-sins, Idolatry and so many others. These things are fleeting fun that enslaves us and things that we suffer serious consequences of indulging in.

But when you encounter the True Christ and starting walking with him, you will come to understand that doing the right thing is actually more fun and very easy than you think. In fact, making right choices are much easier than making wrong choices when you receive the Holy Spirit. The Bible tells us that as human, we are born in sinful nature which we inherited from Adam and Eve. We cannot choose right by our own power, but only through having a good and continuous ongoing relationship with the Lord is this possible. Because God created us to have relationship with Him. And this is possible when we give our life to Jesus Christ, accept and proclaim Him as your Lord and Savior, you will receive the Holy Spirit who is also God that will dwell in you and help you to make good choices. With the Holy Spirit in you, it becomes easy to choose good over evil. In fact, you will start to detest evil and begin to wonder why you choose to do bad things in the first place. Because the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of control, once He takes over, and you make him the captain of your life, you will start to hate sin. This happens automatically, as long as you continue to walk with Him and never grieve Him.
